Getting to and from school safely is an important part of every learner’s day. For the teachers at Ikhwezi Primary School in Bethal, getting the scholar patrol up and running was an important step towards improving safety in the area. On 3 June 2026, New Age supported these efforts by donating road safety equipment, including reflective vests, road flags and traffic cones.

The donated safety equipment will help improve traffic management around the school, where learners actively participate in promoting road safety awareness and assisting with traffic control. By equipping the school with these resources, New Age hopes to encourage responsibility and create a safer environment for learners and the wider community.
Supporting Learners Beyond Road Safety
In addition, New Age donated trophies that will be awarded to the school’s best-performing learners to recognise their achievements and encourage them to continue working hard.
Principal of Ikhwezi Primary School, Ayo Dladla, expressed her appreciation for the support received, stating, “I’m happy and appreciative of the handover. As a principal and SGB, we are proud, and these donations mean a lot to us as a school.”
The support provided to Ikhwezi Primary School is part of New Age’s wider Corporate Social Investment (CSI) programme. New Age supports several education-focused initiatives that aim to address the needs of learners and their communities.
