05 Jun Enhancing Refinery Flexibility: New Age Engineering Solutions Successfully Completes Crude Flex EPCM Project
New Age Engineering Solutions (NAES) recently completed a project that significantly assists clients in the industry. The project involved undertaking the Mechanical and Piping aspects of the Crude Flex II EPCM Project located in Saldanha on the West Coast of the Western Cape.
The primary objective of the Crude Flex II Project was to facilitate the transfer of crude oil from both OTMS (MOGS) and SFF Terminals and cause an interconnection with the Saldanha Milnerton Pipeline (SMP). The SMP serves as a crucial connection between the SFF terminal and Astron’s Milnerton Refinery, ensuring a smooth flow of resources. NAES played a major role in this project by carrying out several essential tasks. These included the construction of a state-of-the-art Crude Flex pump station, installation of a 16″ overland pipeline spanning approximately 1.3 kilometres both above and below ground, establishing of a Crude Flex transfer station on the SFF line, introducing of a new Nitrogen piping system, and creating new 20″ connections to the pre-existing storage tanks.
The ultimate purpose of this comprehensive project was to enhance the flexibility of the Astron refinery. This enhancement allows efficient crude oil extraction from the SFF or OTMS facility, ensuring a diversified and reliable supply source. Having been appointed as the SMP construction contractor, NAES demonstrated their expertise and dedication throughout the project’s execution. Their attention to detail, adherence to industry standards, and commitment to delivering high-quality results position them as reliable engineering and construction partners.
Clients looking to optimize their operations and streamline their crude oil extraction process can greatly benefit from NAES’s accomplished track record and ability to execute complex projects successfully. By leveraging their expertise, clients can enhance their facility’s flexibility and ensure a smooth and uninterrupted supply of resources to meet their refining needs.
The NAES team remains committed to delivering excellence in engineering solutions, and its successful completion of the Crude Flex II EPCM Project stands as a testament to its capabilities and commitment to client satisfaction.
